Sources of information and information tools

Understanding and explaining  a region as complex as the Mekong requires merging information from multiple different sources and persepctives, using many different tools. A "dynamic information framework" (DIF) is a process for merging and presenting information, on common standards. Modern computer models are a powerful means of exploring what might happen to the hydrologic cycle under different condtiions.

An animation of computer model output shows how models provide an integrating framework.
